Journey Within.

"We find ourselves in the place we are at." ~ Ruthieism

When Moses, in Biblical lore, first encountered God, he was given a directive by the Divine that he was to remove his sandals because he had stepped into a sacred place or space. He had been startled by the sight of a 'burning bush' that didn't actually burn.  By this we can infer that we must remove impediments and barriers to the progress of our soul's evolution. What is our greatest barrier and impediment to our personal growth?  The proverbial You & Me.

A bit later Moses asks God his name and God says, "I Shall Be What I Shall Be".  In other words, my name is, "I haven't quite figured it out yet".  Moses had just led a very scared and oppressed plight of people out of a tyrannical, evil and abusive country, across an ocean, who were also just attacked by evil bandits. When they finally manage to make it across the desert to a mountain he strikes a rock so they don't die of thirst.  Then he secludes himself on the top of the mountain as far away from the whole lot of them as he can get to what I presume is think things through. I am thinking he was thinking, oh, no, now what, or, what was I thinking? Just have faith. He really had to get to the heart and soul of the matter of it all.  Talk about having to dig deep.

I think what happened when he came down the mountain the first time is that he still had no idea what to do so he had to buy more time.  When he saw the people worshipping a little gold cow I don't think he was all that bothered.  After all, he grew up in an Egyptian Palace! He was a Prince of Egypt. The thought I am sure did cross his mind that these people did need to work on self-governance.  In any event, it just so happened to be the precise excuse he needed in terms of more time.  So he broke the rules that he or God wrote so that he could climb the mountain again.  He remained in seclusion for 40 more days and nights in complete immersion to experience a direct encounter with Self (or God). It was on this mountaintop that he encountered Self, face-to-face, and learned the secrets of existence, of the Cosmos, of the Universe, but only in stillness, in quietness and in direct relation with Self.

When we are ready to take a look through the looking glass and explore the vast unknown within, then we can begin the journey of unlimited self-discovery, which is a life-long process. We cannot face ourselves at all unless
