This election year there are many issues and there is much anger over the state of the economy and the actions of Congress. The votes being cast this year will send a signal to our elected officials at all levels about how we feel about their actions as incumbents.
The federal government has certain principles and authority granted to it under the Constitution. The authority granted is clearly identified in the Constitution with the remainder falling to the control of state legislatures.
There are many decisions made at state and local levels with which we may not agree. We as voters need to look at the decisions made by our current elected officials at all levels.
We must form our own opinion on whether it appears that decisions were made with the best interest of the people or the party to which they belong. If we are unhappy with actions of our elected officials at any level, we should listen to their explanation on why they made the decisions they made.
This can be accomplished through campaign stops or the news coverage where questions are asked and answers given. Granted we do not always have the opportunity to ask our elected officials specific questions in person but we can communicate with them through the Internet and we should.
When receive these answers we must determine if we are satisfied with their explanation. That should have an impact on our decision whether to keep them in office.
There are many laws and decisions made each year by our elected officials at the state and federal levels. These decisions can and do impact us some more than others. The media seems to be concentrating on federal elections but there are a number of state elections also being held.
Primaries are scheduled at various times for each state and candidates running for office involve state and national offices. The dates for state primaries are different for each state.
There are many governors being elected this year and the candidates we choose in the primaries can have significant impact on how states will operate either under new administrations or continuing the old.
The income of various states is reduced as a result of the economy and decisions being made by individual states and their legislatures. These decisions will impact the services they provide now and in the future.
Each candidate will have their own plans to bring the individual state
