The responsibilities of fathers

What are the responsibilities of fathers? There are many, although lots of fathers prefer to neglect their fatherly duties to their children. Some fathers run away from the responsibility of raising a family from the start as they feel that they want to continue enjoying their lives, and do not want the pressure that children bring with them.

Fathers are responsibile for their children, and this ranges from providing them with a stable and secure family environment to helping children find their true identity. Fathers need to be a role model for their children, and often when their is a male role model absent from a child's life, they tend to miss out on the little things in life.

Children often remember their childhood fondly when they become adults as fathers are there to protect and provide for their families. Fathers should see to it that their children are receiving a good education, and should be a part of the child's social, mental and physical development.  Fathers should also do part and parcel of the mothers duties as many women have full time jobs today, and do not have the time to be a full time mom. This involves changing diapers when they are babies, and cooking healthy and nutritious meals for the child when he/she grow up.

Fathers should always be there for their children, and it is up to the father to be a disciplinarian at times, especially when it comes to boys. Fathers should always teach children the right way, and should be there to advise the child about legal and work issues when he/she comes of age.  Fathers should also have the right to see their children and be informed of how they are coping after going through a divorce or separating from the birth child's mother.

The father is responsible for upholding a stable and loving family environment. Without this environment many young people are led astray and are unable to form their own intimate family relationships when they grow older. This is all too common when children grow older , and having a father figure at home who upholds the law and is a loving and responsible partner has its benefits for those young adults who are starting a marriage or family. Children often learn these traits from their parents and subconsciously practise these traits when they are adults, so it is up to fathers to teach children the right way forward.
