Shadows
Shadows bookend our lives;
Swimming in the warm, protective shadows of mother's womb;
Fearing the monsters lurking in the shadows of dark places;
Resting from the hot sun in the shadow of a friendly elm;
Evading unknown places, unfamiliar spaces that cast shadows on the landscape of our existence;
Finding safety in the shadow of anonymity from the glare of public recognition;
Ignoring angry memories that hide in the shadowy recesses of minds darkened by the past;
Hiding from the great shadow of death in memories of youth and life.
Shadows bookend our lives

Shadows of the night
Somewhere in a distant dream,
stood two shadows of the night.
At the edge of split perception,
being bathed
Absent light
Stains on a wall
Take human form
But twist, Distort
They move and dance
But have no life
Hollow imposters
Shadows in the Night
Shadows haunting in the night.
Playing games in the moonlight.
Keeping all the shapes I see
Deep within
As I gaze into the light of night
Shadows emerge upon my sight
Some bring thoughts of sheer delight
Some are scary in gruesome

Shadow Tag - A Childhood Memory
Whispers of footsteps cross my grassy path,
As I kneel in the shadows in the full moonlight.
