 Respect is the basic element which primarily guides us to be mindful of our manners. Respect and admiration go hand-in-hand. Parents, who have nurtured the concept in their children's lives, will find themselves fortunate in earning the respect and admiration of their children. Teens who have been raised in this manner, will find no difficulty in showing the same respect and admiration for their teachers as well.

Unfortunately, the scenario today has dramatically changed. Today in the 21st century, we live in a society where respect for authority is not given paramount importance. Disrespectful behavior is on the rise in our homes, schools, societies and in our streets. What could be the root cause of this problem?

Experts in the field believe that to better understand their teen's growing needs, parents need to double the efforts to keep the relationships strong, the communications channel open and the "rules of the house" in place.

Teachers play a dynamic role in molding the lives of their pupils. They yield a strong influence in enhancing your teen’s lives. Hence, teens owe it to their teachers to show them their appreciation and gratefulness; they need to learn how to show respect and admiration for their teachers.

Teens let us together look into some of the effective ways by which you can show respect and admiration for your teachers:

* Thank verbally

 Instead of taking your teachers for granted, determine to verbally thank you’re your teachers whenever you interact with them. After all, the teacher has been taking time and putting in a lot of effort in the preparation of the class to equip students with knowledge and guidance. It would be courteous and necessary that you make it a point to express "I thank you" or "I appreciate your help" verbally. This would undoubtedly go a long way to manifesting respect.

* Listen attentively

Listening with full attention and maintaining eye contact is another way you teens could demonstrate to your teachers that what been taught and the knowledge imparted, is important to you and you appreciate it. This would be a good way to showing that you truly respect and value the importance of your teacher's help.

*Ask forgiveness

It is courteous to apologize and admit one's mistake when you have done or said something wrong in Class. A timely "Please forgive me" or "Maybe you're right" expresses your concern and respect for the teacher.

* Loyalty

Loyalty is yet another good expression of true respect and admiration for one's teacher. This entails you refraining from passing judgment and rude comments about your teacher-even when he/she is not present.

* Bonding

All good teachers aim at bonding with their students as it makes the teaching and learning process a lot easier. Teachers like to see the development of team spirit in their class. Pitching in and helping out without being asked, is a good way of pleasing one's teacher. It conveys the message that you care about him and are grateful for his/her time and efforts.

* Conclusion

Teens please do continue to remain thankful for all the immense opportunities that come your way. Use these to enrich your relationships and reap rich benefits from your teachers. Turn to your teachers; let their knowledge, experience and views, motivate, educate and inform you. Let these be the cornerstones of the decisions you make in life and on the career path you wish to take.

Most importantly, do not forget to show your deepest respect and admiration for your teachers.
