It doesn't cost a fortune to make the most of closet space. Often people think this is a major job though with a little time put aside for the task, this is made more effective. It may not be a question of changing closets for newer ones. It may just be a time to make the most of existing space, and the Spring cleaning period is the ideal time, as the mindset is on getting things ready for the summer. The days are still a little unpredictable for working outdoors, so take the opportunity to sort out your closets, and you will be surprised what can be achieved on a budget.
~Sorting out the clothing.
As seasons change, so to clothing needs. One of the most effective forms of storage these days takes up little space. Vacuum bags allow you to store out of season clothing and to keep it as fresh as the day it was packed away. Empty the closet and place everything onto the bed. What this does is show you what space is available at the bottom of the wardrobe which would normally be a wasted space. Hanging skirts and jackets and items which are not full length together frees up valuable space for shoes and accessories.
~Working out shelf space.
Once the hanging items have been sorted, have a look at the space available. Buying some MDF is very cheap indeed, and each shelf made can be finished to look similar to the finish of the wardrobe itself. Free standing units for shoes are very simple to construct and can be placed beneath the hanging area. One area where people often
