Solitary Path

Precipitously perched upon the precipice of truth are we.

Standing at the edge, teetering upon oblivion;

Around us, winds that swirl and blow with gale force-

Threatening our very existence, our lives, our reality.

So vivid is the threat that I tremble in fear, that with but one gust-

We shall fall, tumbling like tiny shells in a windblown surf,

To be broken apart, rendered separate evermore-

Nevermore to be joined.

Truth and reality become obfuscated within the impenetrable fog of greed-

Which overtakes all rational thought.

All feelings, all memories of joyful times dissipate and are replaced-

By the bitterness of rancor upon the taste buds of souls that for so long-

Knew only the joys of unity, trust and truth.

And now when the journey through time was to be taken as a unit-

The journey is taken alone and leaves but an indistinct and solitary lonely set of footprints

In the dust of time where twas meant to be two.
