Misconception means a false or mistaken view, opinion, or attitude. Thus the definition of prayer is a specially worded form of request used to address God, a god, or another object of worship over and over in a repetitive manner. When we talk about misconceptions regarding prayer, it is assumed that this means that we are taking prayer on the wrong level. A wrong level you say? What could that mean? Simply put, most people believe that prayer is the be-all and end-all of everything. People who pray think it will go as planned and will have immediate results - this, in essence, is far from the truth. You have to visualize the end result as if it already happened. That is the true key to success.
So what are the misconceptions of prayer then? Why pray if people think they are never going to achieve the results that they desire?
First of all, prayer is a repetitive request. We pray for money, for peace, for safety, for making ends meet ... and incidentally it happens. So, why the long faces when we do not get what we want? It is because the results are never implemented properly. This being said, why pray then? Well, the answer is this - we are conditioning our subconscious mind to achieve our results. Let's say Jack prays for forty days, and on the last day he gets his prayer answered in some form or another. It is not because of his undying faith in God, it is because he formed a link with the infinite power and intelligent energy of his subconscious mind. He unlocked that power through his repetition and saw what he wanted in his mind. The prayer then went into fruition mode and brought the thing he desired most into being. Don't get me wrong, there is a Universal Energy or Consciousness at play, it just so happens to be confused at time with other modes of thought like religion.
You can argue all you want and I am sure there will be much controversy in what I say, but it is truth. If it wasn't truth and there was only one God, then how is it that masses of every religion have their prayers answered? We cannot all be right .... can we? People who pray to Allah, God, Jesus, Pan, Satan , and every other deity out there get their prayers answered at one point or another. So how can this be then? It is because we are unlocking our Subconscious Will .... our conscious mind repeating words over and over unlocks the Subconscious Mind ... this then taps into the infinite, intelligent power of unviersal energy or the universal consciousness.
This is what prayer actually is .... nothing more and nothing less. I am not saying that religion is bad because it is not .... everyone has to believe in something for it to work. The subconscious mind cannot work unless it is told what to do - it has no reasoning, no independent thinking ... it just does what it is told. If you see it in your mind clear as day, then the subconscious mind will bring it into play. That is one of many misconceptions of prayer.
