Poetry: Reflections of reality

by Juliet Romano

Created on: March 26, 2010

Wake up in the morning,

Grab your notebook, eat some cereal,

One bite, learn the theory of evolution,

Two bites, panic,

Drink some coffee, polish those shoes,

Kiss your lover good bye,

Grab your books and drive to campus,

Professor fusses, failed exam,

Show up late, coffee spilling,

Forget homework, get dirty looks,

Cheat on lover with an ex,

Get caught, have a lamp stolen,

Show up late for work,

Lose job, forget to pay rent,

Parents call you, you call back,

Bank account runs empty,

Steal some of roommate's drugs,

Sell it on campus,

One bad deal,

One bullet to the head,

One misspelled name on tombstone

That's reality...
