And in the twilight of his time,
Let him be as king;
To all that stand and present before him,
And to all those who seek his consul,
And yearn to be in his presence.
Let him reign with dignity-
As if his kingdom were grand-
and on the scale of Camelot.
Above all, render safe that dignity,
His integrity and secure his self respect-
For in the end,
That is all we take with us into forever.
Cloak his soul in robes of cloth-
That is woven from strands of golden threads.
Defer to his wishes as you might,
were he a deity;
A God towards whom lesser men are humbled.
For when at last his eyes grow dim-
And his heart shall beat no more,
Your soul will be suffused with joy,
For twas you and you alone
Who gave him the wings upon which
His spirit took flight to soar forevermore.
