Using a hot water bottle has many uses and is very easy to use. You can buy them at any local department store or sometimes a dollar store. They are located usually in the health or camping section depending on the store you will be shopping at. Always make sure the water bottle has no leaks or cracks before buying. Also, educate yourself on what hot water bottles have been recalled and which have not. You do not want to get a faulty water bottle and have to buy a new one.
Always educate yourself on the different brands of hot water bottles. You will want to weigh the pros and cons of each one. They come in many different varieties and most are made of rubber. You will want to find one that meets your lifestyle needs. Make sure to take it out of its packaging and read any manuals or safety caution labels before using the hot water bottle. You do not want to be burnt or cause a death of a loved one with improper usage of the bottle.
Make sure that the stopper for the water bottle is set in place. This will avoid leaking of water from the bottle during use. It is also a good idea to try to wrap the bottle with a towel so when in use you do not burn yourself or the person using it. The hot water bottle when laying directly on the skin can cause severe burns and blisters. Many people use these when they have earache. Some women even use the hot water bottle during pregnancy to help nausea form morning sickness. A water bottle can even be used to keep you in warm in the old days.
When people have the flu in the middle of winter, putting a hot water bottle on the bottom of their feet can make them feel better and release pressure in their joints. Some nursing homes use the hot water bottle to comfort their elderly patients instead of the toxic painkillers that a person uses on a daily basis. This helps keep the body from taking too many painkillers in a day.
They can also be used for a toothache. They can warm and sooth the side of your face for maximum comfort. The hot water bottle can help increase your blood flow with its warm liquid contents. Children may use the hot water bottle. However, you should not heat it above 120 degrees. Otherwise, your child could burn. Always supervise the use of the hot water bottle. Some kids can rip or tear the hot water bottle causing them to burn themselves and have to get medical help. The hot water bottle can also be popped like a balloon.
