Poetry- Lost Love
The way we were, we thought was sure.
The road was long, the view obscure,
We found a place, but felt unsure.
We tried to keep, some hope in sight.
No way to save, it was our plight,
Away it left, one bitter night
The tears, the words, it hurt so bad.
The hopes we had, was lost so sad,
Was we who lost the love we had.
The pain remains, dull felt but deep,
The hurts are there, down deep they seep.
Our pact for years, no more we keep.
Those lies we told, we lost despite
All truth had left, no more to fight.
The friends we knew, their fears were right.

Poetry: Lost love
by Olu Burrell
I think about you when I'm looking ahead
And also in moments of reminiscence
But do me a favor and don't ask me
To tell you
The man in the jacket, walking through snow,
His faithful friend, always in tow,
Forever smiling, happy look on his face,
Whatever
So there we were
Looking up at the sky,
Together.
Truly thought
That you and I
Could storm
Any kind of weather.
I still
Do not wait for me with bated breath,
because my heart dances to and fro.
Its chambers are hollowed and empty
it longs for
As a bird perched on the edge of its nest
eyes searching the unknown world outside
strengthening its wings, yearning to fly
