I, personally, do not believe in love at first sight. Yes, I admit that you may see a person on the street and find them attractive but that person may turn out to be a total jerk or just not compatible with you. In order to fall in love with somebody you have to get to know them first and make sure that you have at least some of the same interests.

You may meet a person that you find attractive but that doesn't necessarily mean that you love them. You can't love a person without first getting to know them. You may find the person attractive but that person may end up being a video game freak or having some other addiction that gets in the way of his spending time with you and that can hurt a relationship. On the other hand, you may get to know that person and eventually end up falling in love with them.

It takes time to fall in love. Spending time with a person and getting to know them better is essential in a relationship, especially one that you want to last. That person you met in the street may have some habits or flaws that you just can't stand to put up with for the rest of your life.

While I do believe in lust at first site, I don't think there is any way that somebody can fall in love at first sight. We've all been there and thought that we've found the right one for us but sometimes things don't work out for whatever reason. Sometimes it takes years to figure out that the person you're with is not compatible with you.

As much as I'd like to believe in the fairy tales of love at first site, I just can't. It's just not possible. I think the belief in love at first site and getting married too quickly as a result is a major cause of divorce. I personally don't believe in divorce either. Marriage is a long term commitment and not one to be ended when things don't go your way. If you choose to believe in love at first site, far be it from me to stop you but make sure that it's the real deal before you jump into a marriage. Real love is a beautiful thing and not one to be taken lightly. Whether you believe in love at first site or not, love will eventually find you when you least expect it.
