The Temple Mount is actually a high part of the Holy Temple that G-d told King David to build around 3,000 years ago. Islam was established only 1,3000 years ago, over 1,700 years after King David made Jerusalem the capital of the Jewish homeland, Israel. Jerusalem is so connected to Jewishness that it is mentioned 622 times in the Torah, while the Quran doesn't mention it even once. This makes it difficult to understand why Arab nationalists, though not all Muslims, can make such a baseless claim that the Temple Mount is not Jewish, but Muslim.

Another bone in the throat of those who claim the Temple Mount is Muslim is that Arab invaders, colonialists with roots in Arabia, did not even arrive in the Holy Land until the 700's. The Turkish Ottoman Empire, which ruled Israel for hundreds of years, never treated Israel as an important place for Islam. Author Mark Twain noted that Israel was mostly a barren place, hardly an indication that Arabs considered Jerusalem to be an important place for Islam. National Geographic presented a similar view in one of their very early issues.

But we are under no illusions. The Arabs are destined to push the West to take up their cause not only for the Temple Mount, but for all of Jerusalem. And that is exactly where the “fun” will begin. I’m very certain that most people are unfamiliar with G-d’s prophet Zekhariyah’s (Zechariah) detailed prophecy (chapter 14):

14:01 Behold a day of the L-rd cometh when your spoil will be divided in your [Jewish] midst.

14:02 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle and the city will be captured and the houses will be rifled and the [secular Jewish] women raped and half of the city will be exiled and half won’t be cut off from the city.

14:03 Then the L-rd will go forth and fight against those nations like a day when he wars in battle.

14:04 And His feet will stand in that day on the Mount of Olives which is on the eastern face of Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives will split in half towards the east and towards the west so there will be a very great valley and half of the mountain will remove to the north and half to the south.

14:05 And you [Jews] will flee to the valley of the mountains for the valley of the mountains will reach to Atzel and you will flee like you fled from before the earthquake in the days of ‘Uziya, king of Judah, and the L-rd my G-d will come , all the holy ones with You.

14:06 And it will be on that day that there won’t be light, but heavy clouds and thickness.

14:07 …

14:08 And it will be that on that day living waters will go out from Jerusalem, half of them towards the east sea and half of them toward the west sea, in summer and winter it will be.

14:11 And men will live there within and there will be no more extermination and Jerusalem will be safe.

14:12 And this will be the plague with which the L-rd will plague all of the peoples that warred against Jerusalem, their flesh will waste away while they stand on their feet their eyes will be consumed in their sockets and their tongue  will be consumed in the mouth.

14:13 And it will be that a great tumult from the L-rd will be among them and they will hold each others’ hands and their hands will fall off [or rise against each other in war].

My advice to both the Muslims and people of the West is to fight their destiny and not join the troops that will invade Jerusalem, unless they treasure the phenomena of their eyes and tongues melting.
