Mortimer Beckett and the Lost King by Paprikari - Download Link - $19.95
Game Rating: 4/5
Once in a while, there comes along an innocent looking puzzle game that captures the imagination and lets you enter an enchanted world that takes you away from your daily routine and lets you dream for a while. Mortimer Beckett and the Lost King is one such game. It has the feeling of a story that unfolds as you go on your quest in an enchanted forest, solving clues, finding and picking up artifacts to help you along the way. The object of the game is to find the lost king and restore him to his kingdom.
This is a sequel in the award-winning object finding series, following Mortimer in his homebound journey.
Graphics and Sound
The 3D graphics are very smooth and surprisingly realistic. There is no annoying music and the sound is natural to each scene.
Creativity and Innovation
It seems that the creators of this game put in a lot of love and devotion, which is clear from the animations and amazing graphics. As a 3D game, it is very successful and would entrance any Toy Story or Shrek fan. However, some of the words in the text graphics (such as the notebook) are difficult to read due to the fonts used, but overall, this is not a problem. The game flows from one scene to the next with ease, allowing the player to experience another world.
While the game is fun and would entertain younger players, it may not be challenging or innovative enough for those who are looking for a more intense experience from their game. Serious knight in shining armor, dragon-slaying is not anticipated.
