Angels here to assist
When spirits are low
Walking among us
All too often unknown
Is our life in tune
To what we receive
And recognize the
Angels that we need
Sent in many forms
In order to complete
The guidance sought
For the tests we meet
The next time you
Receive a need met
It is most certainly
A very safe bet
That you have seen
An angel sent for you
So pay attention to
A dog out of the blue
Or friends and family
That somehow knew
For we never know
When it may happen
An angel hovering
Over us to dampen
Life’s harshness
When we are weak
Watching carefully
Over us oh so meek

Smile, nod, always agree,
this is what the world will see,
if I don't give myself away.
In hidden corners of my mind,

Masks are ways
To hide underneath
One's true being
Covered by sheath
Masks hide reality
Emotions hidden
Eyes covered over

The Mask
I wear the smile; I wear the mask.
And who am I? You simply ask.
Why do you hide behind your smile?
I will tell
I've worn masks
Nearly all my life.
As a child,
I pretended to be religious,
Even while doubts
Flooded my mind.
