Obamacare Exposed
I’m sure most Americans, or at least thinking Americans, those that considered their heritage one of freedom and liberty, had already condemned Obamacare on a gut level from the start, as they should, but probably few know the exact details of this gross unconstitutional intrusion into their lives and what it will mean to them.
Here are the highlights divided into three lamentable categories: increased taxes and fees, spiraling costs, and reduced services.
Increased taxes and fees
• An increase in Medicare payroll taxes on couples with income of more than $250,000 ($200,000 individual) a year from 2.9% to 3.8% and expanding it from simply a payroll tax to now including income from interest, dividends, annuities, royalties, capital gains and rents.
John Adams, one of our founding fathers who wrote the oldest constitution still in use today, that of Massachusets, which Madison used to model ours after, once wrote, “It is agreed that the end of all government is the good and ease of the people, in a secure enjoyment of their rights, without oppression; but it must be remembered, that the rich are people as well as the poor; that they have rights as well as others; that they have as clear and as sacred a right to their large property as others have to theirs which is smaller; that oppression to them is as possible and as wicked as to others.”
Why today does it just not seem as wicked to oppress the rich? So what if a millionaire has to pay a little extra, who cares? These fat cats have been getting a free ride on the backs of the workers for far too long, right? Well, don’t expect a million man march on the South lawn for the sake of the rich any time soon.
Unfortunately, the popularity of raising taxes on the rich elides the fact that Obamacare has just taken a payroll tax and made it an income tax: you got it, marginal income tax rates are now up 3.8%.
• Customers of indoor tanning salons would pay a 10% tax.
Certainly few are going to take to the streets with this idiotic tax, but it is a perfect metaphor for our new America: pale and wan from the long fatigue of the losing battle and now uncertain future.
• Fees on insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers, including $33 billion over ten years on fees on drug makers.
There is just one candidate running against the rich for the pleasure of being the most execrated group
