Cons Over Pros With the Passing of the Health Care Reform
It's hard to imagine that after successfully opening the door to the invasion of small business, and the general marketplace of consumer providers, there are many pros to be found. While I admit there are a certain amount of legal residents who legitimately require assistance, the regulations and stipulations placed on the entire society pave the road for a socialistic existence.
On the side of health care being offered to those who cannot afford a traditional provider: Great! Not sure if unprecedented government spending is the best approach. None the less, something needs to be done to help the people dying in the streets or in nationwide neighborhood slums that may not get the help they need because they do not fit a specific 'disabled' profile.
There is no denying the fact that an insurance company turning somebody down for having a pre-existing condition is harsh. The fact remains, however, that we live in a free right to enterprise economy! If the government feels strongly in offering an alternative to those lost in a series of catch 22's, I support it.
What troubles me deeply is the unfair advantage taken by the government over the business owner who has decided to make a profitable decision. Not to mention the fact of going beyond that to demand the American consumer will purchase some form of insurance or be billed for it. For those who lie in limbo, and are not necessarily in need of health coverage (and every other American citizen, for that matter): Is the mandatory acquisition of a 'public service' offered by the government an indication of a free society?
Absolutely not!
Aside from the stronghold that is beginning to take place over the entire economy with the advancement of this bill, is the threatening of destruction of the American Life as we know it, rather that its salvation. The driving forces behind this increasingly revealing spread of government control offer us jumbled numbers and unrealistic data to convince us this will spark pivotal change in the struggling economy.
The undeniable and logical truth is that there is one ultimate outcome to this reform: Insurance and medical providers either driven out of business or settling for government imposed wages. The free market will surely not survive in competition with the leading entity of this nation. The health care arena of the entire country will be under complete control of the government: Jobs, institutions, employees, etc.
On this topic, they are offering you a perception that many of these jobs will be created. I ask you to use your instinctual reasoning and realize that jobs will be transferred and/or reduced. There are already many workers employed in health care and insurance. Once the government requirements are mandated onto the companies who provide these services, they will undoubtedly, one by one, fail to meet the financial criteria they need to survive. They will have lost their own means of providing for themselves and their families, and their employees will be unemployed and seeking government employment for the only consistent job in their field.
If the solution to the many lacking adequate health care coverage is to be achieved by the annihilation of the constitution and the taking over of our rights in a transformation into Socialism, I want no part of it.
