On gossamer wings your whispers fly,
while I wait on a distant shore,
and to my ears your words of love,
bring warmth to my heart once more.
For six long months you've sailed the seas
as I watch the home fires burn.
We whisper words of love and strength,
as night winds make us yearn.
And when the ship that carried you
so far from my embrace,
has brought you back to loving arms,
we will whisper face to face.
