Breast feeding has numerous benefits to mothers that many people don’t know about.
Some of the benefits are.
It Saves Money. Breast milk is free. When you are breastfeeding your baby, you don’t have to go out and spend money on baby formula, which can cost from $1,200 to $4,000 per year. Research shows that breastfed babies are in better health than babies on formula. This makes it cheaper for mothers because they don’t have to take their babies to the doctor, and will be saving money by spending less on pediatric visits and prescriptions.
It is Convenient. Mothers don’t have to take time to sterilize bottles and nipples and warm it up to the right temperature, because breast milk is always clean and at the right temperature for the baby. It also makes your life easier by not having to get up at night to get bottles, all you have to do is latch the baby on to your breast. You also don't have to worry about trying to mix formula and make bottles when needed.
Helps Mothers Return to Pre-Pregnancy Weight. Breastfeeding mothers are able to regain their weight before they became pregnant quicker when breastfeeding. This is because, oxytocin found in breastmilk causes the uterus to contract, which allows mothers to stop bleeding and lose weight faster.
Allows Time to Bond with Baby. Breastfeeding allows a mother time to rest with her baby, which helps them bond. Research shows breastfeeding women report psychological benefits, such as increased self-confidence, and a stronger sense of connection with their babies.
It’s Good for Mother’s Health. Breastfeeding is good for a mother’s mind and body. Studies show that breastfeeding mothers show less postpartum anxiety and depression, than mothers who feed their baby's formula. It also showed they have reduced health risk with breast, ovarian, cervical and endometrial cancers.
Mothers have been breastfeeding for many years. I felt really happy when I saw my babies for the first time, but I was even more excited once I found out how I could not only benefit my babies, but myself also if I chose to breast feed. Breast feeding is the best way for new moms to set the stage for their future health.
Everything happens for a reason, and there is a reason why God gives every new mother breast milk to feed to their precious newborns.
Now knowing that breast feeding is beneficial to you, I think you should give it a try because it is natural, convenient, healthy and absolutely free.
