Finding your webpage at the bottom of the Google’s Search Engine Results Page means fewer visitors to your website. In order to drive more traffic to your website, you need to develop a Search Engine Optimization plan so that you can climb the SERP, and gain more importance in Google Page Rank.
Writing SEO friendly content is simple. The work involved may be tedious and hard, but once you find SEO keywords to include to your content, your content will shine, Google queries will find your website faster, and your website will move up the SERP and your Google Page Rank will climb in importance.
It all starts with a list!
Make a list of all the keywords that you may use to search the content you are providing. This brainstorming session should include word as much as phrases. Search these words and phrases and look up your competition and what Google Page Rank they have.
Once you have your list, you will refine it, build upon it, and eventually determine what keywords to use as you write quality content for your website.
The following tools will help you determine competitive keywords, search volume, and help improve your Google Page Rank.
Google AdWords: Keyword Tool -
Google AdWords: Keyword Tool is a free web based software that drives deeper into the keyword list you created.
By entering a keyword or phrase you can find local search volume and global search volume. If your competition is not using SEO, and you can find searchable keywords with low competition, this will help you reach the top of the page on the Google Search Engine Results Page!
Google AdWords: Keyword Tool also shows you results by match type: Broad, Exact, Phrase or Negative words. By using Exact, you can see the results based on the exact search entered into Google search engine.
The Average CPC will show an estimate of the bid price of each Keyword that the keyword tool gives you. This is one gauge to see how you can monetize your website based on the search word that brings traffic to your site.
Again, if you are not writing quality content, your webpage will not increase in importance in Google Page Rank. So once you define your searchable and competitive keywords, you can start writing SEO friendly content.
It is always important to make sure the keyword you use for your article, blog post, or specific web page is in the title, subject line, and emphasized with as a ‘heading’ within your copy. Once you start writing content use keywords naturally throughout. Flooding your content with keywords in an unnatural way may hurt your Google Page Rank and drop you lower in the SERP.
Some use a keyword density formula to make sure their keywords are showing up a certain amount of times per page. The keyword density is ‘old school’ SEO, but some still use it today to ‘make sure’ their keywords are showing up as a certain percentage to the amount of words used.
It is more important that you use keywords throughout your website, but use it naturally as you write your content. If you follow this one basic rule of thumb, you will have SEO friendly content which will help your website market itself and drive more traffic to your website through organic searches.
