Almost everywhere you look in our society, people look for those they can side with. Every person has to be on one side of the fence or another. Of course, I'm talking about all those major issues that will go on being debated for years to come. Society tells us that we must be "left" or "right", conservative or liberal, Democrat or Republican, pro-life or pro-choice, etc. However, is this really true? Do not get me wrong. I am not saying people should not have convictions to take a stand on. Why do people have to be pushed into taking a stand and then judged so harshly?
If you tune into Rush Limbaugh as he banters on every afternoon, you will even hear from him the same idea. Make up your mind and take a stand. Then, if your stand is different from his you just might hear an earful. Of course, to take a stand we are only given two options. Now Rush Limbaugh will admit there is a third option to some things, but he views the third option as flawed as well.
I can say this about Rush Limbaugh. He is a man that stands firmly on his convictions. But remember, he is a man and nothing more. He is a person that made his choices for his own reasons, believes in them, and speaks for them. I say good for him. I say the same for any other person out there as well.
Everyone who listens to Rush Limbaugh, whether you agree with him or not, remember one thing. Every person is entitled to his/her own opinion. He just happens to be lucky enough to be in the position to be heard by many. Everyone should take from Rush Limbaugh the same thing. Do not hate the man, exhalt the man, wish him ill fate, or any of the such. Take his formed opinions and add them to everything else you hear and read and then form your own opinions. Find your own convictions and stand on them. If you feel the need, just as Rush does, tell as many people as you can what your opinion is and why.
Rush Limbaugh and many like him, whether "left" or "right", Democrat or Republican, pro-life or pro-choice, etc. should be used for education on issues that surround our society to make decisions as to where to stand and nothing more.
And remember, there can always be a third choice, well hidden that takes a lot of work to find.
