Fly, fly,
Fly away.
Come and see me,
As I lead the way.
Fly, fly,
Fly away.
Shot down my dreams,
In an awful way.
Fly, fly,
Fly away.
Wish I could,
But now I’m forced to stay.
Fly, fly,
Fly away.
Broken wings,
Keep me trapped here.
Fly, fly,
Fly away.
Nothing left but broken wings,
Nothing left but dreams can sting.

Poetry: Broken wings
by Leigh Goessl
Dreaming of heights
Longing to take off
Delicate wings
Fragile but soft
Trying to fly
She was a bruised bird
Fell to the ground
With broken wings,
Still I flew.
He could not stop my flight,
Nor take the song from my heart.
Though he broke my wings,
He was
Broken Wing
The mother bird spotted the shambling bear
before he could stumble upon her young,
and lured the beast away
by Dominic D.
I flew, at 10 years old, one night
when my dreams were still untouched
by the hurt and pain that this world
offers,
Fly, fly,
Fly away.
Come and see me,
As I lead the way.
Fly, fly,
Fly away.
Shot down my dreams,
In an awful way.
Fly, fly,
