Take a child to love a tree. Seeing a tree is curing and fun. Your yard has trees. Your local park has trees. Take a piece of bark from the tree for the child and let them see how to do it without getting injured. It is important that the child knows not to trespass on property.
It would be nice to tell the child, “I will carry it for you.” Allow the child to pick up a blade of grass. Let the child place the grass in their own pocket. It is really suppose to be a special day. That is an activity for Earth Day for the child.
Please start asking the child about art and artwork. Go to the grocery store and buy wax paper. You will need an iron. Buy some crayons at the grocery store too. Please have the child with you at all times. Once you are home plug in the iron. Get a sharp kitchen knife and place it on the eating table. This will be a good time to empty the crayon box and start shaving paper off of the crayons. Once you shave the paper off of the crayons shave the crayons. Keep a pile of all colors on the table.
Now is the time to lay out any size of wax paper you would like. Make two pieces. The pieces must both be the same size. Lay all the shaved crayons on the shiny side of the wax paper decoratively. Go outside and get more grass and some leaves. Go back to the paper and lay the grass and leaves in the crayons. Now is the time to place the shiny side of the wax paper on the crayons, leaves, and grass.
Take the hot iron to the table and iron your decoration. Don’t forget to already have some glue in your house. Take out the glue pull the bark out of your pocket and the adult must glue the bark on the earth artwork. Tell the child to pull their blade of grass out of their pocket. The adult must take the blade of grass and glue it on the decorative art work.
Have a glue stick in your house already. Spread glue from a glue stick all over the wax paper. Sprinkle the paper and some more crayons on the wax paper.
Your work is now done. Later on you can buy some poster board and glue the artwork on with the some glue. Give it to a friend. Keep it in the house.
If you give it to a friend the activity will happen again. If you keep it in the house it will fill your house with Earth Day. Earth Day is a beautiful holiday.
