How many places on the planet can you recall, that have lakes on either side of the city, are close to several highly ranked golf courses, the home of numerous world class wineries, micro breweries, festivals, sporting events, and concerts? In British Columbia, a small beach town called Penticton can be found in the Okanagan Valley, and is exactly one of these described places. A popular summer destination going back to the mid 1980’s, Penticton has became evermore increasingly popular since the filming of My American Cousin in 1985, which featured the small town and the surrounding areas of the 50’s. Since the early parts of the 1900's, travellers, tourists, and settlers have flocked to this town during the hot months of the summer for the fine beaches, large lakes, and the many other attractions found in the area that make
Penticton “a place to stay forever”.
HOW TO GET TO PENTICTON
Penticton is located, as mentioned, in the Okanagan valley of southern British Columbia. South of Kelowna, North of Osoyoos and West from Vancouver, Penticton is one of the small cities that line Highway 97. With an International Airport in Kelowna, and also flights into Penticton Airport, the valley is easily accessible by plane from pretty much anywhere.

The most popular time to visit Penticton is usually the spring, summer, and fall, but the area is beautiful at all times of the year and it is always possible to find something to do.
WHAT TO DO
During the warm months of the year, there is something to do in or around Penticton, for everyone. One the fastest growing draws of travelers to our small British Columbia town are the sports and outdoor activities that go on within the city limits, on the lakes, or in the mountains surrounding Penticton. From golf, baseball, beach volleyball, wake boarding, kite surfing, rock climbing, hiking, to the annual Ironman Triathon, the sky is really the limit as to the activities one can get involved in, in the valley. Wine tours are also another popular summer activity that can also be done over the other months of the year as well, however is much more enjoyable during the growing season. Visitors may also want to take a moment to enjoy the cherry blossoms, peach orchards, and the many other fruit and vegetable crops that are grown in the surrounding areas.
