Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is a great first person shooter to start at if it your first time playing one, for several reasons.  The first reason is that the controls are very easy to use.  If you have easy controls, than you can kill people faster which is the name of the game!  Another reason why is because you can select your difficulty (easy medium or hard)  This feature makes it so that if you are a first timer, or a seasoned player, you can find the game mode that fits your playing perfectly.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is a first person shooter action game.  First person shooter means that you look at the screen as if you are holding the gun in your hand, looking through the eyes of the character.  Modern Warfare 2 is a war game taking place in modern day, with realistic graphics and guns.  In the story mode, you play as several different characters as either a member of the spetsnaz, tf 141 (an american military) OpFor, (foreign terrorist group).  As you go along, you are constantly given objectives to complete, which always keeps the action going. 

Next is the online mode, which allows you to compete against other players from around the world who have an internet connection.  You can play many different game modes.  For every kill or challenge you complete you gain exp (experience points).  Exp is required for your character to level up, and unlock more guns, items and benefits.  Once your character gets to level 70, you will have the option of "Prestige Mode".  Prestige is when you have the option of getting to level seventy again 10 times.  Each time you get added challenges emblems and titles.  You also unlock an additional custom class slot for each odd prestige level (1, 3, 5, 7, 9,) 

The third game mode Modern Warfare 2 offers is called Spec Ops (Special Opperations) You can play alone, online with another person, or splitscreen.  In Spec Ops, you act as a military soldier, who completes special missions, similar to the story mode, except only one mission at a time.

Modern Warfare 2 is an overall fun game, and is great for a first time video gamer, or a veteran!  I would reccomend this game to anyone who is looking to have some great fun.
