Big Deal! I am amazed at the number of people who spend time discussing others' bad behaviors. I further find it remarkable at how astonished people are when they hear these things. First I say to you look at yourself or look at your neighbors. You might have or your neighbors have probably behaved just as badly but the gossip rags don't run stories on your indiscretions.
Our fascination is almost as bad as the sins that we read about. Certainly I feel sorry for Sandra if her beloved cheated on her, but more embarrassed for her since her wonderful words to her spouse and the bragging that she did about how happy she was didn't take place just a week ago during the academy awards. And Tiger Woods. Give me a break. Tell me that you were really surprised. This is an adult male living in the lime light able to get anyone he wants to sleep with him. Women throw themselves at him. It is not logical to believe that he would not fall. The blame should go squarely on the shoulders of that first harlot who worked her magic on him as a much younger man. At that point he was ruined.
Never should these bad behaviors of our heroes and celebrities be condoned. We should never give them the fuel that we do by dragging their lives through the mud and giving the bad girls and guys out there the platform for which to make their claims. Our society is much to blame for this condition that we suffer from. Let's all turn and look at the train wreck! Well, life is not a show to be dragged from one city to another in hopes of good reviews.
I am a little more cynical than the next. I believe that all celebrities have screwed around. I will admit if I had their fortunes, fame and life styles I probably would also. So when I hear about it I am neither shocked or all that interested. Weeks of media coverage was spent to discuss the situation that Tiger Woods is in. I would rather have seen some coverage on people whose lives are truly inspirational like the single mom struggling in this economy to raise her children and set a good example for them. Or the 62 year old who lost his life savings and now has down sized, economised and reinvented himself and is happier than ever. These are people of inspiration and worth admiring. These are the people we should be spending our time discussing.
