Poetry: Tragic love

by Robin Ragland

Created on: March 20, 2010

Love, for me, is not a shallow thing,

Not a pool of water you can see to the bottom of.

It is the depths of the ocean

And like the ocean,

it pulls me down

time and again

to the deep darkness

where my feelings lie,

a riptide that wil not let me go

an endless drowning

a place where all that could have been

is washed with my tears
