THERE CAN BE NO FREE WILL IN HEAVEN
Although Christianity is not ordinarily stupid, ugly, and evil, it certainly is all three of those things far too often, especially in the United States. For some examples of this, on Youtube there is a segment of an Oprah Winfrey show put up by some ChristiaNazi group that exclaims, “Oprah Denies Christ on TV!” (1)
Actually, she did nothing of the sort; she merely stated that she did not believe that God would condemn people to Hell if they happened to grow up some place where they had never heard of Christ. But no: “There is no salvation but through Christ.” So Bill Keller (2), in an interview on Fox Propaganda Network, warns us, “Oprah is the most dangerous woman in the world . . . a conduit to lead people to hell.” A Baptist church in Kansas has been picketing military funerals to spread their belief that U.S. deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq are punishment for the nation's tolerance of homosexuality. The Christians sport such repellent messages as “God hates fags,” “Thank God for 9/11,” and “Thank God for IEDs” (roadside explosives).
Another kook (3) assures us that Christ named President Obama as the Anti-Christ from the Hebrew phrase “baraq o bamah,” which means “cast forth from heaven.” This would be funny if these people did not take themselves deadly seriously, and if they did not enjoy considerable political power. These are the right-wing fanatics who helped elect the oil-baron president who made torture legal and who lied to the American people to justify a preemptive war that obviously is about oil, and the Supreme Court that recently ravaged human dignity in favor of Corporate power. While these ChristiaNazis are extremists, their attitudes differ only in degree, not in kind, from the majority of Christians. There is much in Christian dogma which is detrimental to human well-being. Since this is true, to combat this stupidity in my own small way I have taken to writing anti-Biblical tracts as a hobby. I would like to think that this is more than a just a hobby; but I have enough sense to know that writing anti-Biblical tracts is about as useful as writing anti-tsunami tracts.
I do not write these critiques because I am an atheist; I am just convinced that the teachings of Christ are
