It may sound like a travel commercial or advertisement, but if you have the finances, the best time to book a 2010 summer vacation is now! It really is. The economy is depressed and has been now for the past two years. Many vacation destinations are coming off of a bad winter season just after last summer. This means people and places are looking for business and willing to cut deals, so you need to be booking that summer vacation to get the best deal possible.
Now there is a chance that the economy will stay down and prices could drop even lower, but that isn't what the economists are predicting. If the business world starts to recover later in the spring or early in the summer people will start to travel and the prices start to climb. It will be harder to find places at the current rates that are as nice as you would like for a price you can afford, There are several hotels down here in the Caribbean that says if anybody calls, give them discounts until the hotel is 50% booked, and give discounts for anything (One place said they will even give you a good driving discount)!
What times are best for calling to book a summer vacation? That is a tough decision, there are two main options. One is to call as early as the place opens, this means you are the first customer of the day and they may give you discounts just to start meeting their quota. Calling at 8 a.m. does have its advantage.
Then there is the alternative of calling at the end of the day, and timed just right this can work out well. You need to call just before they start to close and hopefully they have not had busy day. This means that they really want to end on a positive note and that means getting your reservation nailed down. Call about 30 minutes before closing and then ask for deals. They will go straight to the best as they do not want to work late and yet still want to get your clientele!
The best time to book a 2010 summer vacation is now, as early as possible, the best times of day is either early morning or late afternoon. Just get it booked!
