How to buy sunglasses

When looking for good sunglasses there are several important things to look for. Taking into account the main function of sunglasses and no, it's not to look cool, the most important factor is protection. Now protecting your eyes is important, but what to protect them from? This largely depends on what situation you count on using your sunglasses in. If for instance you're working at a construction site then you'll want something that keeps the glare from your eyes so that you can see well and not have a hammer hit your face when you're looking up because you didn't see what was coming. But whatever happens to you you'll also be happy to have robust glasses to shield your eyes from that damn hammer should it ever get to you... That's what good glasses are for.

Generally most glasses do provide a sufficient protection from the sun but you can never be too careful so be sure to buy good quality if you know that you'll need it! An eye lost cannot be replaced so do take care of it! Polarizes glasses provide good protection from glare especially if you're skiing or waterskiing or playing at the beach in the summer, because they have a special filter built in that blocks the light that is reflected by large horizontal surfaces - yep these are the ones that look like mirrors from the outside.

But what's most important for sunglasses in general is their UV protection factor because that is what hurts your eye when you look at the sun and what can make you blind when your exposed to it too long. This protection is commonly expressed in percentages (I.e. 100% UV protection) and should generallz be respected if you want to keep your eyes healthy. Most sunglasses nowadays already have this kind of high protection so you should be good to go with most sunglasses you can buy today.

As most sunglasses today have this kind of protection and also polarized sunglasses are available for little cash sunglasses don't have to be very pricey, although you shouldn't buy complete junk. Good sunglasses usually rang between 60$ and 120$ if you want something that lasts long and looks good. A good choice for good protection for casual wearing in your freetime or on vacation are Costa sunglasses; they offer a wide variety of models for every imaginable kind of wearer.

Protection for your eyes often involves good robust temples too because many people use their sunglasses in a professional context. Major brands have models that provide good protection there too, by using strong materials such as aluminium or steel for the frames. One very good brand used by many sport celebrities is Gatorz sunglasses: they're made out of a metal that commonly finds use in the military for the construction of choppers for example. Although their design is rather streamlined for maximun protection it is very suitable for young people and sportsman and women.

Of course besides protection sunglasses can also be powerful fashion accessories that transform your whole face once you put them on. If you generally use your sunglasses as an accessory you might be interested in special features such as technological advancements. If this is the case, have look at Oakley MP3 sunglasses. They unite stylish design with a good MP3 player in order to listen to your tunes while your literally on the run. The major advantage over other players is that the earphones won't fall out of your ears while running, of course, but the capacity of storge isn't the same as for traditional ones such as the iPod or something. Still it's a great gadget for music lovers and sportspeople.
