Who else says that you can't increase your vertical jump quickly? Many of the great basketball players in this world can jump really high and dunk the ball in explosive jumps. There are specific exercises that can target the right muscles so that you can get up their in the air and dunk like a pro.
In order to fast track your road to jumping a lot higher, you need to do the following great exercises. These exercises focus on the muscles that make us jump higher. They are in no particular order and you should do all these exercise 3-4 times a week in order to see great results. Remember to stretch thoroughly before doing any exercises. After you have performed the exercises you should warm down and stretch out your muscles again. Flexibility plays a role in your success of jumping higher.
Exercises to increase your vertical jump in the best and fastest possible way are as follows:
Squat - Begin this exercise by standing up tall and straight. Your feet should be around shoulder width. Slowly bend at the knees until your bum nearly touches the floor. Slowly get back up and repeat this exercise 10 times. Do 3 sets.
Squat and Jump - This is similar to the Squat but instead of getting back up slowly, we jump as high as we can and when we land we jump back up right away. Repeat this 10 times for 3 sets.
Toe lifts - Stand up tall and straight and slowly get up on your toes. Keep feet at shoulder width and maintain your balance. Slowly lower yourself back down and repeat 20 times for 3 sets.
Sit ups - Increase your core strength with 5 minutes of sit ups. This is equivalent to 100 sit ups if you spend 3 seconds per sit up.
Jump rope - Skipping with a skipping rope is a very important exercise in your fast track way to success. Keep jumping for 5 minutes and do 4 sets. Maintain a high jump for each jump of the rope.
Another thing that you should be made aware of is your weight. These exercises will help you lose weight but you must ensure that you don't just pile the weight back on by eating unhealthily. The exercises that I have outlined above should get you jumping and dunking like pro in no time. Remember to keep up the weekly routine and eat healthily.
