"Into the Primitive"
Warmth and comfort
Morphed, transposed,
Lost in an old fascination
Born of flame and embers
As modern man sees the flame
For the first time,
Though he has seen it a thousand times before...
An unheard drum beats,
Keeping time with the flame
As a hypnotist of burning plasma
Converts the enlightened
To the primitive
A twig snaps in the distance,
A coyote howls,
And he draws nearer to the flame,
Eyes adjust between the blaze and darkness
As he feeds the fire
In homage to his ancestors.
