Two Separate Lives
I go to work everyday,
and see the people that I know.
However, they don't know me at all.
There is so much I cannot show.
It's like I'm two different people,
living separate lives.
One of them is happy,
and the other has to hide.
From the past, and the pain.
What happened long ago.
How would they react?
I guess I'll never know.
It hurts too much to talk about,
so I keep it locked inside.
I manage to wear a smile,
although a part of me has died.
People pass judgment,
before they know the truth.
It cannot get out,
I do what I have to.
I keep it hidden,
and wipe the tears from my eyes.
I have to go on,
living two separate lives.
No one can ever know,
what happened when I was young.
So many things differently,
I should have done.
I relive the past,
every night in my dreams.
How can I go on,
remembering such things?
I'm doing a good job so far,
at putting a smile on my face.
Although I know,
it will catch up with me one of these days.

To manageable middle

A curiousity toward what happens next

My life is time spent fast
Soon to come to it's last
Many diseases I have tried
More than once I have died

If I die tomorrow,
at least I lived today.
And if I lose myself,
I know I'll find my way.
While I wander through
