==Introduction==
As a gadget man, I have always fancied owning a DAB radio. When my bedside alarm clock finally gave up the ghost towards the end of 2009, I decided to go for a super dooper DAB model to replace it. After researching different models on the market, I decided to go for the Chronos II alarm clock from Pure.
==In the box==
This radio is very much plug and play, therefore the only components in the box are the radio itself, a main charger and a plastic sleeve containing the instruction manual and a registration card. All components were expertly packed in tight compartments to avoid them moving around whilst in transit.
The radio itself is an unusual triangular shape, the front edge being flat to display the information with the other two sides meeting in the middle at the back to form the point of the triangle. On this back point, there is a switch that allows you to change the display between bright and dim. There is also an option for auto which changes the display brightness depending on the quality of light in the room.
The instruction booklet that comes with this clock/radio is very comprehensive and gives easy step by step instructions on how to set up all of the features.

The first time you turn on the Chronos II, it will attempt to scan all frequencies to find channels. This takes between 90 seconds and 2 minutes to accomplish. My radio found 41 stations but this will depend on your geographic location. To find out more about what kind of reception you are likely to get, visit www.pure.com/index.asp and enter your post code.
Once this scan has finished, in effect you are up and running as you can now scan through the channels using the + and – buttons on the top of the radio. What you will probably want to do next though is set the alarm or alarms on the clock. As this is a DAB clock/radio, it is able to take its time and date settings from the signals it receives. As well as meaning that you will not have to change the time on this clock when the clocks go back or forward, it also means the clock will always know what time/day of the week it is. This information is vital for the alarm setting function. The clock radio allows you to set up to 4 alarms and you have the choice of weekday, weekend, every day or one off. You can choose to set any number of these alarms for full flexibility. You can also chose whether to have
