Scott held her and continued to stroke her body in a soothing caress. Each ragged cry tore at his heart, but he didn’t shush her. When her sobs subsided into soft, hiccupping sounds he rose with her cradled in his arms and carried her into the bedroom.
Katrina stiffened in his grasp. “What...?”
“Shh,” he whispered, brushing his lips over her forehead. “I just want to hold you. Trust me, Kitten,” he urged and felt her relax in his arms.
Laying her gently on the bed, he crawled in beside her and pulled her close. His mouth covered hers in a tender caress; searching, tasting, teasing, urging a deeper response until he heard her soft, sweet moan of surrender, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. When he moved to unbutton her blouse, she stopped him with a firm hand. “Will you marry me in the church?” she asked, her eyes wide and pleading. Trina saw the hope and joy flare in his eyes and her heart skipped a beat.
Scott smiled and brushed his lips over hers. “Honey, I’ll marry you barefoot on the bayou if that’s what you want. Just name the date and time.”
“Can we wait until our wedding night to make love?”
He gently removed his hand from her grip and tugged the buttons of her blouse open. “No,” his voice was soft. “I intend to make love to you every chance I get.” At her look of wide-eyed surprise, he chuckled, nuzzling her cheek and teasing her ear with his mouth.
“Lovemaking is more than sex, Kitten, so much more than the joining of bodies. Lovemaking is
