The top 10 questions about the iPad

by MisterTickle

Created on: March 17, 2010

With the Ipad first starting to ship on April 3rd, 2010 and pre-order starting late March, there are many questions to what it will be like. The Ipad is said to be an over-sized Ipod. It has an eleven inch screen with a super slim design making it possibly the best device on the market. However, many average users of technologies has asked quite a few questions about the Ipad, and could this device still be the best?

Will this device be able to multitask?

Users of previous Apple products found that they (the products) cannot multitask. By multitask, it means to be able perform more than one feature of the device at a time. Recent Apple products have applications enabled, but users can only open one application at a time. By this it means that one cannot listen to music and surf the net. Since each feature is operated by applications, no two applications may be opened at the same time.

Is Flash enabled?

The current Ipad releasing in April will not have flash enabled. In later models flash will be enabled. This will mean users can watch videos and movies on the 11 inch Iipad screen.

Will there be an E-Book option?

The Ipad will be an e-reader allowing users to read any Epub format files. Users have the option to buy books in the Ibooks library, but however they (the books) will not be the cheapest. Unlike other e-readers like the Kindle, Ibooks will only be twice as expensive. Although the books are quite expensive, the features the Ipad offers are great. Like the Kindle, it offers the “Read To Me” option where the device will read to the user. One thing to be careful would be connecting to the library. Apple will most likely to charge for the connection when users are browsing for a book. The Kindle uses cell tower technology, while for the Ipad; it will be connected to AT&T or other services.

Will the Ipad run and install Apps not by Apple?

Apple applications library already has many applications by 3rd parties so therefore the Ipad will indeed run applications that are not made by Apple. The good news is that any application that is made for the Ipod Touch will indeed run on Ipad as well. It could be said that they share the same applications.

Is there a camera?

Unfortunately the Ipad does not have a camera present at the moment. There will be many limitations such as messenger options, video calling, Skype and many more. This also means that web cams will not be available as well as a camera.
