Will you ride with me through the breezes of the valley?
Encircled by life, as a gentle caress, a touch, says “I Love You”
A vision of a hundred miles forces the majesty into plain sight
Still wondering how twelve days expose
Two souls, apart yet not separated
For so long.
Will you kiss me once again under Borglum’s vision?
Walking a mountain trail as Love in all it’s glory surrounds us
Still mindful of the praise, while the wind plays the song
Still wondering how twelve days expose
What could not be, twelve days before
For so long.
Will you meet me once again under the countless stars?
Holding hands as a sunset turns a mountain sky crimson
Singing songs of praise, songs of our life
Still wondering how twelve days expose
Basics of life hidden, even stolen away
For so long.
Will you walk with me through states that change a life?
Pausing to be alive, to laugh, or to ground ourselves beneath a tower of absolute silence
Others climb this journey, while we became blessed in nature’s harmony
Still wondering how twelve days expose
Something deeper, peaceful and comforting
For so long.
Will you find balance with me down incomplete paths?
Trying to catch our breath, that was lost long before we started
Still mindful of the imperfect, and the perfection we stumble over
Still wondering how twelve days expose
Eyes that were closed, but hearts and minds that were open
For so long.
Will I hold you once again in God’s own sacred land?
Where under God the people rule
Singing songs of praise, dancing in the waves of the way, light, and truth
Still wondering how twelve days expose
Such bruised and tarried souls
For so long.
Will you stay with me while a broken heart is mended?
Sewn by the thread of the Spirit tied onto needles of pine
Still in awe of a new song put into our voices
Still wondering how twelve days expose
Not chances, but choices, after the wounds heal
For so long.
Will I hold you entwined in arms held tight, in spirit and longer nights?
Under cover of endless sky glimpsed through an open window
Gazing with blue and green reflected in a future dream of faithful desires
Still wondering how a dozen days were exposed
As if an ingredient of a recipe of hope carefully handled and graciously shared
For you.

We have been together longer
than each of us had been alone,
what makes us tick, and why we click,
the reasons are unknown.

Was I really seeing you, as
