Satire: Love letters

My Dear Steve,

The crashing rain against my window has drawn my wavering thoughts back to you again.  The turmoil I find lurking inside my heart seems to wash away with each new pounding of thunderous skies.  I've been known to be too cautious at times, and others I leap with reckless abandonment.  Our time together seems so short in this life, for I could spend eons alone lying next to you, watching you, holding you, and forever loving you. It is times like these that I realize what really matters in my life. When I ask myself, 'What is it that you want and will make you truly happy?' I find myself thinking of only you. You are the bright full moon in a weathered winters night, when the diamonds of the sky twinkle in envy of your beauty. You are by far the drink of water in which one would wish to drink during the deserts summer when there is no oasis in sight. I'm honored to call myself yours.

There has always been a question in my heart I've wanted to know. I want to ask you, and I hope you are ready. Will you marry me? I know I have already married you-inside my heart. You see, I find that I want no other, and I cannot see myself not waking up to find you there smiling at me with the tender look inside your blue eyes. I want, for the rest of my life, to spend my time dreaming, experiencing, learning, growing, and truly living with only you. You are what I call my 'heart mate.' You are the one that will forever live inside my heart. So yes, my love, I'm all in. You are my aces in the hole; my all in hand; what I'm betting it all on.

So if you'll have me, I'm ready when you are. I'm laying my faith in you and only you. To spend my life loving you would be the easiest, but most fulfilling thing I could ever do. It does not matter to me if I'm rich with material things, for I am already rich with the thing that counts. Love. I know you love me, for who else would dance with me in the afternoon spring rain? Who would sit at night and watch stars by the river and talk of dreams, hopes, and things in life we want to do? Who else would look at me, the way you do? Even when I walk into a room, you sense I'm there before you ever see me. Who else in this whole world would love me the way that you do? Nobody, baby. Nobody but you. I love you.

Forever Yours
