What is Google Fiber?

From the day in first grade when I first heard my teacher talk about Google to now, Google has always done something amazing to meet the needs of the average person. Whether it was the search engine, Gmail, or even the Chrome web browser, Google has always been ahead of par in what they do for the average person.

But now, Google has just created something that can make it shine in the world. Now, Google has decided to create it's own internet service called Google Fiber. But don't think it's nothing. Google went overboard with internet service, and will offer what is probably the fastest internet service available to the world. Yes, that's right. This isn't just the plain old high speed internet. In fact, this surpasses the requirements for even a fiber optic internet connection. Google's internet service doesn't offer the internet, but it offers the internet on some serious steroids.

How much of an overdose did the internet take in Google Fiber? While the average high school in the USA has internet speeds of 500 KB per second, Google Fiber will have speeds of up to one gigabyte per second. Now that's about two thousand times the speed of an average high speed internet connection!

Those are amazing speeds, and the best thing about it is that you can that kind of internet service at an under-competitive price. But you won't have to pay Google itself. Google is planning to make this super fiber optic network open access. This means that all internet service providers can provide Google's internet service.

Now you have to say that with Google's history of working for the customer, this is something that should have been expected. Ever since it started up, Google has always transformed the internet. From the funny named search engine, to Google Earth, Google has been a name internet users have looked up to. With it's simple approach to the internet, Google has made the internet a lot more complicated than it originally was.

But with Google Fiber, Google is not only trying to bring a faster internet connection into existence (they're "...doing this because we (Google) want to experiment with new ways to make the web better and faster for everyone), but Google is also trying pave a path for "...applications that will be impossible (to use)today."

Google is just one of those things that leave us astonished. Expecting Google internet service is just something no one could have expected. Now the question is, will Google Fiber be a success, or will it bring Google to its knees?
