For under a hundred dollars, the Dell Laser Printer 1110 offers monochrome laser technology and speed in a package that can fit on almost any desktop, making it one of the best overall values in home laser technology. With a rapid print speed of up to 17 pages per minute, this hardware is sufficient for not only personal use, but home businesses, and even small offices that require personal office devices.

Text and graphics will come out clear with the Dell Laser Printer 1110 which boasts 600 x 600 dots per inch resolution. An included toner cartridge will get you started printing right away with a yield of 1,000 printed pages, and additional standard cartridges offer 2,000 page yields. Also, when a toner save mode is implemented, each cartridge can produce up to 3,000 total pages, cutting toner cost by a third, with no loss to quality, and very little loss to noticeable boldness.

An input tray allows for storage of up to 150 sheets, and a high capacity output tray holds up to 100. With an 8,000 page maximum monthly duty cycle, the Dell Laser Printer 1110 can move a lot of paper without damaging the hardware. Dell also backs the toughness of its product with a one year limited service warranty, and one year exchange policy. Both are upgradable to 3 year policies with Dell’s Gold level technical support.

With a width of only 14.1 inches, and depth of only 11.7, the Dell Laser Printer 1110’s footprint is small enough to squeeze on any desktop or workspace, and a height of 8.5 inches means you can even hide it under your desk, though height will increase when the paper tray is unfolded, and paper is in the ready position, so lets not be to hasty.

2 MBs of standard random access memory is not expandable, but should prove to be more than adequate for even the largest print projects. A USB 2.0 full speed port allows for access to your PC but, as the Dell Laser Printer 1110 was designed to be used with Dell computer systems, the unit is not Macintosh friendly. It does, however, come with pre loaded drivers that make plug and play possible, meaning almost no manual setup process is needed, especially when dealing with Dell systems. This makes the model perfect for the novice user who still requires the power of laser technology, but cares not for extensive setup processes.

Software included with the package consists of a Dell Toner Management System with an intelligent toner monitoring system that proactively notifies you before you run out of toner. Also, and integrated online purchasing system connects you directly to Dell’s website. A local printer setup utility is also included, along with a printing status window program, and a status monitor.

A power consumption of 300 Wh or less, and a standby mode power consumption of approximately 8 W, makes the Dell Laser Printer 1110 easily Energy Star certifiable, anchoring its status as one of the most innovative and convenient devices on the market aimed for small businesses looking for affordable laser technology.
