Have you ever wondered where the Kingdom of God is? I know that I have. We can see and hear about other kingdoms everyday. There are kingdoms all over this earth, kingdoms with kings and countries and subjects, but the Kingdom of God seems to be a little more elusive to find. Is it a place or is it more complex than that? People have given much thought to it over the years and bible scholars have tried to teach us what they know about the subject.
From my perspective, and from my limited understanding: I humbly submit the following observations:
The Kingdom of God is invisible and can not be seen with the naked eye of man. It is the total substance of faith, hope and love. It is God's will and His purposes on the earth and for man. The only time that I know of that it was visible, was in the person of Jesus Christ on the earth when He walked among men.
The Kingdom of God is His supreme will and it is in His reign and in His sovereignty. Jesus came to express the will and carry out the will of His father. So that when He was here in our midst he was the personification of the Kingdom of God.
The Bible says that the Kingdom is not meat nor drink, but righteousness, peace and joy. These are the places of the Kingdom of God. The places that are in our hearts, and in God's heart.
God is the royal monarchy of the Kingdom and he reigns eternally over all the hearts of men that have submitted to His kingdom, and to His message – His word, and have become willingly His subjects.
All Kings have subjects and that is the whole concept of a Kingdom: a King and his subjects make up the continuance of the reign.
God's Kingdom is the total rule of love in the King for His subjects and the love in the subjects for their King. Jesus came as the manifestation of God's perfect will and was His perfect ambassador of the Kingdom sent with a message for all mankind from the one who sent Him. Jesus was the same as the Kingdom of God on the earth when He walked among us.
The Kingdom is God's will and we who love Him have entered the Kingdom of God and that becomes the place where God's kingdom is.
