There are many things have changed in America during twentieth century: economy, education, politics, and etc. People were more interesting in cities, so many of them move in to big cities. The poor people need to have better job for them to money to support their family, and cities provide the qualities, so they moved to urban. The African Americans were not excluding during the urbanization. Even the immigrants went to the cities. They were also had the poverty problems and they were more comfortable in the cities. When these huge populations moved, problems increased. More people wanted the job; the more racial tension emerged into job field.
However, pollution was one other major problem. Massive job searchers made the company to have more factories. The factories caused air pollution, and water pollution. There were more diseases and crime throughout the cities. The increasing in urbanization cause dynamic changes in the cities, but because many people were lack of knowledge, the education field also changed. There were more schools provided for immigrants, with many night schools. African Americans can get higher education than before, even though there were still some racial discrimination exists. Generally, there were more high schools. Universities provided more major over: modern language, science, law, and etc. With all the development over education, it gave move inventions in science.
People started to build taller buildings and stronger bridges because of elevator and development of internal steel skeletons, which they have more resources. Invention of the electric transit made transportation easier like airplane, and better factories products. They also invented printer to have cheaper books. The science development helped a lot to make life faster and easier for humans. While people received more knowledge and science investment, government had many reforms. Like the education development, government helped that field by protecting moral improvement. Government investigates for the scientific management. The government also made many reforms within the governments. They reformed local governments, mayors, governors, and elections, which change a lot inside itself. The government was more open than before that they finally gave women the right to vote, and higher education for them.
During this period, because many things changed at the same time, each change affect the other specific change which every change connected to each to form a bigger change. People started to think differently and they were more similar to now day than back then. These changes affected strongly to our generation.
