Office Life in Haiku
~*~
The copier jam
Like freeway Chicago traffic
It's so frustrating
My mailbox is full
Could it be money? A deal?
Nope - bills and more bills
Co-workers talking
Like tropical jungle birds
SQUAWK SQUAWK SQUAWK SQUAWK SQUAWK
My pen has run dry
Yet trying to find new one
Like climbing mountain
The office jungle
With its beasts and dark shadows
My second home, so proud
My desk is so nice
Not one person can see me
Privacy is great

My Personal Parlor
Only about an inch or so of wine left
The night has been productive
Boy fed, entertained, and put to
by Huckster
It's Trivial
The hours were expended;
The day had finally ended.
And what had I completed
For this vile firm conceited?
My efforts
The picture is crooked on the wall.
It is five past two and
I've been watching it since noon
It hasn't moved.
No one has straightened
Getting Off Work
One more hour to wait.
Then will be out the gate.
Waiting for customers,
Air-condi tioning blurs.
Fifty five
