Will Power: The Secret to Losing Weight
There are three key components to losing weight but one is more important than the other two. Without this one component the other two will fail every time. That key component is will power. We all understand that to lose weight, sensible eating, cutting calories and smaller portions, will help you reach those weight loss goals.unequivocally as well is the fact that exercising will increase the amount of calories burned and thereby weight loss is guaranteed. This is old news.
Eating right and exercising are by far the easiest parts to any fat-loss regimen you plan to take. What isn’t so easy and what makes people fail every time is finding that will power to put the donut down and take the stairs. Will power alone is the foundation to any thing you do in life and will help you succeed or fail. Like the arduous task of quitting smoking, losing weight is an up-hill battle. Unfortunately for you nobody on this beautiful blue planet can motivate you to lose weight if you don't find it in you to do so. It's all you. However, you can find people who can offer you support in one way or the other. Your job is to find these people.
So we now know that to lose weight you have to find the will power to get started. And we’ve always known that eating right and smaller portions along with exercise will burn the blubber weighing you down. What’s next? Well, the good news is nothing. That’s it. Can it be that easy? Yes and no. That will power hurdle is a high one and one that isn’t easy to climb
One thing you have to realize is that YOU WILL FAIL! The sooner you believe this the sooner you can get past it. Failing to lose weight is part of the process that will help you succeed. How can such contradictory information help anybody lose weight? It's amazingly simple actually. Think back to when you were a child and you wanted to learn how to ride a bike. Very few children got up on a bike and rode it the first time out. How about skates? Or a pogo stick? We have to learn slowly and take small strides to get what we want. If you expect to fail the first few times out then that overwhelming disappointment won't become so overbearing that it consumes your will power to try again.
In order to lose weight and keep it off you have to be ready to become someone else. After all being you hasn't worked out so far, has it? Change who you are by changing your habits and lifestyle. If you can do this the rest will be easier. Decide that sitting on the sofa watching 6+ hours of television isn't who you are. Decide that having take-out food 7 days a week isn't what you want.
Now that you've made the decision to become someone new you have to find activities that you'll enjoy. Remember that if you enjoy the activity you'll do it more often. I won't waste your time by going over which activities to choose from. We all know swimming, bicycling and walking just to name a few will get the blood pumping and the calories burning. What you do have to decide on is making the time to do it. You need to stop lying to yourself and making excuses for why you can't get it done. Just do it.
