I love to sit in my rocking chair and listen and feel the spring storms blowing in the warmth and the smells of summer. I love it when the seasons change, it seems to bring a change to us all. When we come from a bleak cold winter where the dull drums set in, from staring at four walls for too long. With the rains come hope, the hope and anticipation of warn summer days.
I know that the fierceness of a spring storm and rains brings the beauty of flowers and trees. I know this is much needed for our vegetation, our fruit trees. It signals the birds to come flying back,It beckons to all the animals just as it does me.
You can see in between the bouts and the down pours the gardeners working on flower beds. It brings about the tilling of the ground when the sun peaks through the clouds and the ground dries a bit. Getting readyfor our gardens, to work in the land with our hands. I think it reminds of our youth and playing and mud pies.
The days get longer, some times there are a few nice warm dry days to tease you, then here comes the rain. And as always the clouds lighten and thin and out peaks the sun again. The skies seem playful as we watch the lightning dance, and the rain quiet only to leave us a promise of color in the sky. The promise of GOD'S word in the form of a rainbow, there is nothing more beautiful.
Yes I love to sit on my porch and hear and smell the spring as it passes on to summer. I sit in my rocking chair and enjoy it. It seems everything else is peaceful, drowned out by the sound of thunder and the beating of the rain. It reminds me of younger days when I would splash and play in the puddles. Remember the coolness of the water and the soft mud under your bare feet? I do.
Sometimes the winds blow hard and the rains get worse, you begin to wonder if it will ever stop. But they go as quickly as they come, and the brightness of the sun seems warmer and brighter. I love spring storms that catch you out all of a sudden and you run hiding trying to get out of it, and it sparks spurts of laughter and smiles. It is better when you can share these times with others.
