As one of the most hotly anticipated sequels to a formidable gaming franchise prepares to launch, interested gamers everywhere wonder: Where can I watch the SOCOM 4 trailer online?
The origins of the series lie within an acronym, SOCOM, which stands for United States Special Operations Command. The games, which feature the exploits of U.S. Navy SEALs in mission-based scenarios which third-person shooting and squad command play, have exclusively been released on Sony consoles, including PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and PlayStation 3, on which SOCOM 4 will release.
As each game advances the loose plot surrounding the tactical shooters, developer Zipper Interactive has been hyping the fall 2010 release of the sixth title in the SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs series, with the simple working title of SOCOM 4. The planned release was announced on March 4, 2010 by publisher Sony Computer Entertainment, with the trailer first shown on television at 12:30am EST on March 5 on the GameTrailers TV network. Now, the trailer is available for view on a handful of websites.
BlastMagazine.com
Blast, a lifestyle news entity for trendy adults who appreciate a touch of professionalism, was quick to pounce on the trailer. Their March 5 update by Director of Video Game News Eddie Makuch, here, features the trailer embedded in the post. This source is perhaps a surprise; though the website does frequently publish video games-related material, they also post general interest pieces for world news, entertainment, and science & technology.
KonsoleKings.com
Konsole Kings, a site self-described as “Where Hip-Hop and Games Combine” that combines reviews and videos with a frequently updated gaming blog, simply updated their blog on March 5th with an entry posted at 10:57 am in which their staffer sergiodapro managed to embed the trailer as well, viewable here.
YouTube.com
YouTube, the nearly unfathomably popular video-sharing social networking site, is always sure to bring up multiple videos for any given search term, with “SOCOM 4 trailer” no exception. However, one of the more reliable and high-quality videos was posted by independent gamer TheMercTube, who also uploads tutorials, game reviews, and other gameplay material. On March 4th he managed to post the SOCOM 4 announcement trailer here, including the option to download in RealPlayer format.
Although more links to the trailer are sure to appear, and different versions may possibly emerge as well, these three sources represent some of the earliest and most reputable outlets that caught the trailer and, much to gamers’ pleasure everywhere, were able to post the SOCOM 4 premiere trailer for public viewing.
