Although starting a new online venture  may seem an uphill struggle at times there are a number of options available to quickly drive traffic to your website that can be explored. However, the starting point must always be quality content because without this search engines will ignore your website and any visitors you attract simply will not return. Ensuring your website has quality content will also mean other websites will want to link to yours.

The options you choose to quickly drive traffic to your website will depend on what kind of website you have as well as what kind of budget you have to spend. Not all ways to drive traffic to your website cost money, but those that do can be very effective.

Although Google Adwords is not a free option it can drive traffic to your website very quickly, with the advantage you only pay for the ad clicks that lead visitors to your website. The internet is swimming in online directories, some of which are free and some that you will need to pay for. On the whole it is just as well to keep to the free ones unless the directory offers something extra which suits your website. There is some debate about how effective online directories can be in driving traffic to your website. Many report an increase in visitors after submitting their site to well chosen directories whereas other say the days of website directories are over. The general sense is however that they can be a good source of creating backlinks over the long term.

As well as online directories there are a growing number of classified ad websites. These kind of sites do need to be used sensibly or you may find yourself banned. With this in mind they can still be a useful way to bring traffic to your website.

The web2 phenomenon has created an influx of social interaction on the internet that can be utilized to quickly drive traffic to your website. The one that most easily comes to people's minds is Facebook which gives the opportunity to keep people up to date with the content of your website and allows you to interact with potential visitors.
