How to Look Younger
It is said that men age gracefully, while women just age. Because our bodies and the demands of daily life are different between men and women, it seems that after a certain age a woman is just destined to look, well…old. This doesn’t have to be the case, but you have to know what you should really be doing to truly help you to look younger throughout your whole life.
Anti-aging has begun to take on a whole new approach, especially with all the new studies that show us how much certain lifestyle factors could be affecting the way we age. So, if you want to look younger, no matter how old you are, it’s time to assess what you might be doing that is actually causing you to look older than you really are.
Sun Exposure
There is no doubt about what a sun kissed glow can do for your appearance. You look warm and fresh with a little bit of pink and a little bit of tan, but over time, this glow can cause you to age prematurely by breaking down the collagen in your skin and adding large, dark age spots to your face and body. According to Linda Foster of Everyday Health.com, the most important thing you can do to keep yourself looking young is to use sunscreen every single day, no matter what the weather.
Now, if you haven’t been keeping up with your sun protection routine don’t worry because you can help to undo much of the visible damage that has been done, but you should start using sun protection every day from now on.
Eat Right
We all know that making sure to maintain a healthy diet will help us to keep a smaller waistline, but did you know that a healthy diet can help you to look younger, too? Of the lifestyle changes which you should be making, maintaining a healthy diet might be the second most important step in helping you to have beautiful, radiant, youthful skin. Real Age.com recommends eating plenty of lean protein such as fish, low fat dairy foods, poultry and eggs. This will help you to beat the cravings which you might have for high sugar and fat foods, but the Omega-3’s in the fish will help your skin to stay radiant and healthy from the inside out.
You should also make sure to drink plenty of water, since the skin shows dehydration first. When your skin is dehydrated, it can make your pores look large and you can take on an ashy color.
