When Lady Gaga releases a video, it’s news- likewise when Beyonce Knowles does. When they get together and release a video as they just did for Telephone it’s beyond news - it’s a major event for all of their fans.  The video for telephone was much discussed as both Lady Gaga and Beyonce have huge followings and the hype building up to the release of the Telephone video promised nearly everything but the pair showing up in your home for a live personal performance. As you can guess, it’s been an instant internet sensation, but not everyone knows where to find a good version of it, or one that hasn’t been removed already as dead links to Telephone are growing by leaps bounds - as well as plenty to sites that would just love to download some software on you.

Before jumping in let’s take a look at the video itself. For starters Jonas Akerlund did a heck of a job directing Lady G and Beyonce in Telephone. The premise is pretty simple - Lady Gaga goes to jail and everyone under the sun wants to make her a part of their family - in an intimate sort of way. If you like seeing Lady Gaga make out with another woman you won’t be disappointed although it is a fairly brief snippet. Lady Gaga is in fact the bulk of the opening - hanging around on the yard, waiting for her telephone, girl-on-girl prison fights, dancing around in a bra and thong or better yet nothing but crime scene tape.  Pretty much everything you expect from a women in jail theme is there.

Some critics have already begun blogging saying the video is too sexy, or it goes too far, but How can Beyonce not be too sexy? When has Lady Gaga not pushed the envelope and maybe gone too far for people with milder tastes like Paul Anka? The bottom line is that Beyonce and lady Gaga are sex symbols and they have made it to where they are in part by pushing the envelope. Anyone expecting to see them sitting on a pair of stools singing for a video is nuts - you have to seize the chemistry between and let them go where there creative juices takes them. To not do so would be a let down to their fans.

Finally Lady Gaga is released and her lover Honey Bee played by Beyonce picks her up in a souped up truck. Beyonce immediately admonishes her saying “You’ve been a very bad girl…a very bad girl.” That is when the fun starts and the video takes a turn. Lady G while working in a diner poisons the food of the man that did Beyonce wrong - and everyone
